The Haunting of Ashburn" by Darcy Coates
Darcy Coates is one of my favorite paranormal writers ever. Her books are always fun to read and
"The Haunting of Ashburn" is no exception. It is about Adrienne who is left homeless after her mom
passes away and she has to move from the house they shared while she was taking care of her. A
lawyer lets her know that a great aunt she never knew has left her a house in a small town.
She packs her few belongings and her cat and takes a bus to this small town where she finds the house
needs a lot of work. She still has to stay there so she fixes up a few rooms and settles in. She learns
from the locals that the house is haunted because several people died there. I love the characters in this
book and the hauntings are believable and scary. This was definitely a great first book to get into
Darcy's books. I have read twelve of her eighteen books and have only not been able to finish one and
it was not really a paranormal book. This is definitely a book to read this month that will leave you in
you in the Halloween spirit. There are easy to read and fun to follow. This is definitely one of my
favorite books that I know you will enjoy too if you like haunted house stories without the gore. You
should definitely check this book out.
