"How To Hang A Witch" by Adriana Mather
"How To Hang A Witch" is another young adult
fun book to read. It is about Samantha Mather, whose dad is in
the hospital and being low on money her and her step-mom
move into her dad's old house he grew up in. The next door
neighbor is one her dad's best friends and her son, Jackson
becomes Sam's best friend. When she starts going to school
there is a group of girls who do not like Sam and everyone says
to stay away from them. Its set in Salem and since Sam is a
descendent of Cotton Mather, who was one of the people
responsible for the witch trials, the group of girls decide she is
not a good person since they were each descended from the
witches hanged. There is also a ghost in her bedroom who keeps
popping up. I love that this book is written by the great, great,
great, great, great, granddaughter of Cotton Mather, Adriana
Mather, and she knows her history well. It is the perfect cozy
book to settle in with on a cool autumn day. Its as cozy as the
next door neighbor's pie. I would recommend this book for a
fluffy fun read during this Halloween season.
