"Dead Lake" by Darcy Coates
I am doing another review about Darcy Coates books
because I love her writing. "Dead Lake" is about Sam who
decides to stay at her uncle's cabin by the lake for the
weekend to unwind and do some painting. She listens to the
local news on the radio and hears about hikers going missing
during her stay there. While she is hiking she meets a park
ranger who tells her the same thing and tells her not to go where
it is blocked off because that is where people have gone missing.
One night she sees a strange man sitting on her boat dock
looking up at her cabin and staring at her. Then when she goes
hiking a few times, she comes home and things are moved
around throughout her place. Who is sitting out there and
moving stuff in the cabin? Could he be a ghost or man and is he
the one taking the hikers? This book keeps you on the edge of
your seat throughout the whole story and you will never guess
who it is. I love that this book is not predictable and usually I t
don't like books that focus on one person because I love dialogue
in my stories. This is another book that I would recommend
during this spooky time of the year.
